He received a basketball scholarship during his time at Salem College and has been recognized as a Basketball Scholar. Moreover, his hobbies include building little playhouses for his granddaughters and crafting birdhouses, reflecting his creativity and dedication to family.

Dr. Manning lives in New Hampshire with his wife Judith Wyant Manning.
